Abbie's Stand

This is Abrielle; she is using a doll stand.

Abrielle is from the archived collection Positively Perfect Divahs by World of EPI. Isn't she cute?

Abrielle--who likes to be called Abbie--has some trouble standing on her own. She doesn't have articulated joints and her cloth body is very loosely stuffed, so she can't even hold her head up very well. This is how she arrived from the store.

Over time, the loose stuffing has compressed and settled, making her head sag even more.

Abbie has a twin sister also named Abrielle (true story) who once had a problem standing up too. But she went to the house doctor and got an armature (a plastic doll skeleton) inserted into her cloth body and now she easily stands and poses, and even dances, which is her favorite thing to do of those three.

Abbie's and Abrielle's friends Diana and Taylor also once used a stand, but they had the armature procedure done and can stand all on their own as well.

While Abrielle, Diana, and Taylor all love Abbie just as she is, they want her to stand up and and pose with them too. Her twin sister wants her to dance with her!

But Abbie has always been a little bit afraid of the procedure. Even though she wants to stand and pose and even dance, she's not sure she wants to have doll surgery! So her sister Abrielle and her friends Diana and Taylor decided to help her out by having a fun day out on the town so she would feel better about everything!

They took her shopping.

They went to the movies.

They got pizza at their favorite pizzaria.

Afterwards they all went to Taylor's house for a slumber party and played games, giggled, and told secrets all night long.

By the next morning, Abbie felt she was finally ready to get her new armature at last. She marched straight over to the doctor's table, ready to meet her new standing self.

Meanwhile her sister and friends waited patiently for her to be done.

After what seemed like forever (it was maybe 15 minutes) Abbie was done! In fact, she came out of the doctor's office cartwheeling and dancing. "Hey guys, look at me!" she called.

"Yay!" they cheered and danced and cartwheeled right along with her.

Abbie is really happy now that she has gotten her armature. She wondered why she hadn't gotten it earlier!

Here are the girls having a fun night out at the carnival to celebrate, because everything in this story ended happily.

(Until Abbie noticed her sister took her hairband without asking.)

The end.

Ok guys, so I've been asked more than once to post an armature guide, and I'm finally getting around to doing it! I'll be adding the details to Abbie's (and the other Divah girls') armature how-to procedure soon.

Oh my goodness, what a cute story! I did't know that dolls could have that kind of "surgery." Abbie truly looks happy.

Hey thanks. I loved doing something a little different (and fun) with this post.
