American Boy Logan Everett Review

After years (probably decades) of American Girl fans asking for a boy doll, AG has released their first "American Boy," Logan Everett. It feels a bit like the old best friend doll days with Logan's debut, as his release accompanies AG rising country music star Tenney Grant, whose backup drummer happens to be--you guessed it: Logan Everett. First-Borns Part II

Onto Part II of my First-Borns Project. (Again apologies for poor lighting. I had zero% natural sunlight as the skies rained for days!)

So I had fairly good success with my first two First-Borns, English Boy and Punkin Princess (for lack of better names). So I grabbed another four blank heads and got to work on them. [node:read-more:link]

First-Born Customs Part I

Here's what been occupying me for the last couple of weeks: I had a whole lot of blank doll heads that needed some love and they weren't going away. Previously I had been focusing on cleaning up and restoring some TLC dolls I had picked up on eBay, listing them, selling, and trying to create some working space for myself!

New Adventures Dolls

New Adventures LLC Toys, founded in 2001 by siblings Beth and Joseph Reiling, has focused on offering innovative quality "girls' toys and dolls" at value prices. They've had several 18" dolls collections: Good Kids, B. Girlz, Style Girls, and more recently, Play Zone Style Girls.

Not a great deal of information exists today about these separate collections, so it's difficult to know anything for sure. But Good Kids may have been the first. . . [node:read-more:link]

Style Girl

I had a goal to get two more AG Friends posts up before the end of the year. I don't think I'm going to make it--the skies are so dark with pouring rain, I've got no good natural light for photos. (Being that I live in California I'm not going to complain!)

But I did run out to Big Lots to grab a Style Girls doll for my New Adventures post and I'm so liking her for the price. . .

Meritus Dolls

Meritus Industries, popular in the 1980s for their version of the Ginny doll line, sold a number of 18" dolls under various collections during the 1990s. Some of their more prodigious were the Elite/ LIfetime Dolls and Girls on the Go collections. In late 1999 they merged with DSI Toys and sold Disney Sweethearts dolls before closing up shop in 2003.
